Online Networking Plugin for WordPress

Henselutions proudly presents the Online Networking Plugin for WordPress 2.0.
(It may work with older versions too)
It’s a plugin that allows you to list the online networks you’re on, like Ecademy, LinkedIn, OpenBC and others. So visitors can choose the network they are on, and connect through the ones they use. Look in the sidebar on the right and look for the plugin!
I posted it also on the plugins website of WordPress.

That’s a great idea for a plug-in.
Here’s a better version of the LinkedIn logo:

Oh, and did you know that you can create a personalized URL that could look something like:
http://www.linkedin.com/in/rutgerhensel
You can set that up here:

Hello!
I installed WordPress on my server, and set up a site. It’s a relly nice piece of software. However, I am missing a piece of functionality, and
couldn’t find a suitable answer for it. Mayou you know a plugin I could use?I need to automatically inserts ads in my posts. And not AdSense ads, but rather HTML snippets defined by me (affiliate links, etc). Let’s say I would insert a tag in my post:
– ad here –
and the plugin would automatically replace it with some HTML code, when the post is displayed on my site.I really don’t need any fancy configuration options etc, just the basic replace functionality.
Do you know a plugin that can handle this?

Dear Fabrice,
if you have set it up (copied the file to your wp-content/plugins/), AND activated the plugin,
you should find a configuration tool in “Manage” / “OnlineNetworking”
Hope this helps, otherwise, please let me know.

What I want to do on my blog, is every few hours take the oldest post and move it to the
front of the queue, all automatically. Anyone know if there is a plugin that can do this or
a simple way to set up another plugin to do this (use my own feed perhaps)?
Thanks.

Very nice plugin! I just have one problem… our blog is run by two of us, and the plugin only shows “LinkedIn” without our names, so visitors won’t know which of us they’re clicking. Is there a way to easily add the person’s name to the link?

Hi Scott, and thank you for using it! I guess you could put that in the name field, like “LinkedIn Scott” and “LinkedIn OtherPerson”. Hope that works for you. I am planning on widgetizing the plugin and add a lot of other icons to it.
Regards,
Rutger

Thanks Rutger, that works perfectly!
I also made a few minor changes to font sizes, and used a different LinkedIn logo, so it now fits in perfectly with my site!
Great work, Rutger — I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the next version.
Take care,
Scott

I’ve just migrated my site to a new server running PHP 5, and now the Online Networking plugin isn’t working properly. Activating it causes my site to be blank. Checking the logs indicates that it’s finding extra “}” at lines 389 and 391. After removing those, I get my site back, and the plugin appears to be activated… but the Online Networking management area appears messed up – here’s a screengrab of what it looks like:
http://homepage.mac.com/sinemac/OnlineNetworking.jpg
If I try to edit the entry, I get this:
Cannot load .php.
Is this a problem between the OnlineNetworking plugin and PHP5? Or could something else be going on here?
Thanks,
Scott

Oops… that error message for the edit didn’t come through… here it is with some extra spaces added so that it will display (I hope).
Cannot load .php.

Trying one more time… maybe adding some quotes will help? So, ignore the extra spaces and the quotation marks (assumig this works)…
Cannot load “” “.php.”

okay, that’s a bust… basically it says it can’t load the onw_plugin_name

@lil wyte I am wanting to do the exact same thing, did you ever get an answer to this? You asked: (I need to automatically insert ads in my posts. And not AdSense ads, but rather HTML snippets defined by me (affiliate links, etc).
Can anyone help me with this?
I don’t really need a plugin, the file I need to call is php. I just need to know which file to edit and where to place the call.
Thanks,
Jas.
